Liryo got their start in art through watching and painting along with Bob Ross next to their father as a child and knew at an early age that they wanted to work in a creative field. They became interested in science fiction and fantasy at 8, comics at 10, discovered that comics aren’t limited to superheroes at 11, and knew that they wanted to be a comic creator and illustrator before high school began. They’ve studied at UArts in Philladelphia, FIT in NYC, and community college in between. They got into graphic design additionally while studying at FIT and worked as a designer at a tee shirt company as a day job while working on commissions, layouts, and scripts in their apartment when starting out.

Liryo is now married with two children and collaborates with their husband on a sci-fi comic called JUMP! Independently, they also work on an adaptation of the Little Mermaid set as a Greek tragedy and is developing a fantasy parody that explores parenting issues, marriage, and the accompanying changes in social dynamics.

In another life and dimension, they believe they’d be some B-list superhero’s aging sidekick.
